Schism

"...

The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it.
Finding beauty in the dissonance.

There was a time that the pieces fit,
but I watched them fall away.
Mildewed and smoldering,
strangled by our coveting

Ive done the the math enough to know
the dangers of a second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow,
and strengthen our communication

Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion

Between supposed lovers
Between supposed lovers.

And I know the pieces fit."

Trellis - Issue 5

http://trellismagazine.com/CurrentIssueHome.html

Trellis, Issue 5, has finally arrived.

I have watched this beautiful literary magazine grow from a bud of a flower into a brilliant bloom.

It holds a special place in my heart.

Form or no form?

Personally, I have never been one to write poetry by following a set form. I prefer a no rules; let-it-all-hang-out syle.

But, recently, I have been taking a scond look at considering writing a piece in a classic format. Whether that be sonnet or sestina.

Trellis Magazine is a good starting point if you are looking for information on different poetry forms. If you've written a poem in a specific meter or form, it is a great publication to submit your first poems to.

poeticpaper.etsy.com opened its doors today. I have a fondness for vintage books and paper. I'm going to share my overflowing stockpile of vintage ephemera with my fellow Etsians.
I also enjoy making ACEOs and ATCs (Altered Trading Cards) and will post these as they are created.
Currently, I have two collages in process that I hope to finish soon.
